Might be. Last year's recruiting class was good, but not great. Losing Drew Davis to Oregon had to hurt, but Hawkins snagged Ryan Miller (away from Notre Dame of all places). And now it seems there may be a little bonus based on the arrival of Josh Smith at wide receiver this year. His nephew is Darrell Scott. The nation's number one running back. A guy so coveted he reportedly received over a dozen of offer, by his sophomore year.
And there's this little thing. Last night Hawkins got a verbal commitment from Columbine High's Curtis Cunningham. One of the top five players in the state of Colorado.
I don't know if the Buffs are on their way back right away, but it sure looks like a lot of kids want to play for Hawkins. And that can't be all bad.
